Edgar is 19-years old and describes himself as a caring person who enjoys people and likes to cheer them up when they are down. He is very proud of being a moral, responsible person and credits his parents with teaching him to make sound decisions and steer clear of trouble. “I see too many Hispanic men my age mixed up in gangs, drugs and alcohol with no direction in their lives and I think it’s tragic.

My parents were great examples to me because they worked hard and were devoted to open communication with their kids,” he explains. Edgar plans to start college in the Fall and study criminal justice or social work. “I want to make a career that helps people, especially urban teenagers who are at risk of choosing the wrong path in life,” he shares.

Building skills like teamwork, organizational skills, and problem solving are Edgar’s favorite part of his job as a product installer. He also loves when clients appreciate the way he has completed a job. He explains, “It’s all about pleasing clients and giving them peace of mind that no more animals will come into their homes.”

When not working, Edgar enjoys spending time with his family and his girlfriend of 3-years, Yazmin.
